The two lodges are situated in the second basin along the Mt Robert range surrounded by stunning views of tarns, tussock and spectacular mountain peaks.

Robert Hut was built in the early 1950’s and Christie Hut in the 1960’s.

Facilities:

Both huts sleep approx 30 people each in bunk rooms. Both huts have heating, multiple flush toilets, hot showers, fully equipped kitchens, secure locker storage and lots of great ski memorabilia all set in a wonderful alpine environment.

Hut fees:

Members: $20 adult, $10 child (still at school)

Non-members (when invited by a member): $25 adult, $15 child (still at school). 

Clubs and school groups:

One of the aims of the Mt Robert Foundation is to promote education in an alpine environment. As a result the hut are available for clubs, organisations and school groups as an education facility. 

  • Sleeping for up to 60 people split between two huts in bunk beds

  • Comfortable lodge space capable of seating about 30 people for dining in each hut

  • Full kitchen including: gas stoves, pots and pans, cooking utensils, cutlery and plates

  • Flushing toilets, hot showers 

  • All about 1 ½ hours drive from Nelson then 1/ ½ -2 hours walk from Mt Robert car park (see getting there page for more detail).
